Interestingly enough, this only takes me 1-2 hours every day, Haha! Taking my time and enjoying the morning is a favorite part of my day. I also like to be prepared for the day. With a 30 minute drive to work and about 45 on the way back, I spend a lot of time away from home and can’t be tempted by quick “food” options, like drive-thru’s and convenience stores. How do I stay prepared you ask? I just throw some of my favorite snacks in my food bag and I’m good to go for the day. If I’m hungry, I have something good to eat, and if not, I find comfort in knowing I have the option. You know, just in case I break down on the side of the road or get stranded, I wouldn’t want to starve.

Here’s a list of  paleo snacks you can find at a normal store near you:

  • Larabars. Holy moley, I don’t know how I lived 22 years without them! My favorites: apple pie, coconut cream pie & key lime pie

  • Dark chocolate. (I mean real dark chocolate. Not Hersheys!) I like Green & Black’s 85%.

  • Portable fruit and veggies that are good at room temp. I love muchin’ on sugar snap peas!

  • Nuts. I like to pre-make little bags that are easy to grab and full of variety.

  • GUILTY Pleasure: Justin’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

  • I also drink lots o’ hot tea, water and kombucha.

Remember, don’t rely on snack-age. You usually don’t need to hoard snacks if you’re eating a filling breakfast and lunch. Always plan ahead and you can remain satisfied with your little stock pile of paleo-yums hiding in your purse or desk drawer.
